Life on DA Wow... 18yrs... can't believe I started this account in 2004. I was graduating from college and thought I'd share an art piece on a new site called DeviantArt. I made this during one of my final art classes for the fun of it. That was June 24, 2004: And here is my most current and my last piece I'll post here on DeviantArt, October 31, 2022: DreamUp and the rise of AI generated art. AI Generated Art, regardless of how I feel about it's use in the field, is here to stay with our culture.

DeviantArt has given me a lot of fond memories and I've met some great people over the years. I've truly loved it here and loved the community but I can't stand idly by as the new DA policies for AI Dataset aggregation kicks in for my work. DeviantArt Is requiring that I edit all 1400+ of my deviations to exclude it from their new AI dataset third party rules. This should be an automatic opt-out not opt-in. I have so many fond memories for here... I'd like to stay but I won't for this. I'll give DA till the end of the month to respond to peoples concerns on this. If this is their stance then I'll be removing my account from DA. I realize I may even lose some of my earliest works I've done (I used DA as a back-up) but I won't stand for this automated data-harvest.
